Please visit the following sites to explore the life and work of M. R. James further:

Ghosts and Scholars: the official site of the long-running Ghosts & Scholars magazine and newsletter. A wealth of M. R. James information and resources, and a great many links to other Jamesian sites.

thin-ghost.org: Stephen Gray’s excellent M. R. James site, containing plenty of information on the various TV and film adaptations of James’ work alongside the stories themselves, and illustrations. Stephen also crafts beautifully detailed Jamesian artefacts on commission, and has made a number of excellent short film adaptations of James’ stories.

A Podcast to the Curious: a fantastic podcast dedicated to M. R. James’ ghost stories; each episode discussing and analysing an individual story or other Jamesian topic. At the time of writing there are over 70 episodes available, although James’ stories have now been exhausted and stories by other authors are now being discussed.

Nunkie Productions: home of the inimitable Robert Lloyd Parry, the UK’s finest performer of M. R. James’ ghost stories (amongst others). Attending one of Robert’s performances is the closest you can get to hearing James read one of his own stories on a chilly winter’s night.
