Henry the Sixth – A Reprint of John Blacman’s Memoir, with translation and notes by M. R. James (Cambridge University Press, 1919)

In 1919, M. R. James produced this translation (from the original Latin) of John Blackman’s 1510 work Collectarium Mansuetudinum et Bonorum Morum Regis Henrici VI, along with accompanying notes. James’ interest in the founder of both of his most treasured institutions is self-evident. This particular copy retains the original dust jacket, and contains a compliments slip from the Syndics of Cambridge University Press. James himself was chairman of the Press Syndicate “at [a date] I have not recorded” (Eton & King’s, p. 257).
