A Supplement to Blomefield’s Norfolk, edited by Clement Ingleby (Clement Ingleby, 1929)

This sizable volume, printed in a limited run of 350 copies, was compiled to serve as a supplementary text to the original 18th century five-volume History of Norfolk, begun by English antiquarian Francis Blomefield and completed following his death by his friend the Reverend Charles Parkin, the final volume being published in 1775. M. R. James contributed two pieces to the supplement, both on church wall paintings in the county: The Wall Paintings in Brooke Church and The Wall Paintings in Wickhampton Church, with some superb colour plates of the paintings tipped-in. This particular copy is number 68, and was rebound from the original green cloth by Riviere & Son in oasis morocco half-binding and gilt edges.
