Collected Ghost Stories (Folio Society, 2007)

A beautifully illustrated version of the complete collected ghost stories, published by the Folio Society in 2007, updating their 1973 version. Full colour illustrations by Francis Mosley.

This version was printed for the Folio Society by a well-known academic publisher, for whom I have worked for most of my working life. A number of years ago, a small collection of leftover samples and proof copies of Folio Society books we had printed were made available for sale to the staff. During this I acquired the original bulking blank for this 2007 edition for a few pounds. This is essentially the final cover bound with a totally blank text block, and used as part of the printing process to determine the correct bulk factor of the finished book. A couple of photographs of this are included in the gallery below – an interesting curiosity, I thought.
